Vocal Tuition
Pippa teaches all abilities from the 'tonally challenged' right through to advanced and professional singers. She believes it is essential to develop the musician as a whole so that singers are equipt to sing within groups. Therefore, depending on the style of music being studied and what the student hopes to achieve, lessons can include...
vocal warm ups and exercises
singing songs, by yourself and with backing tracks
singing duets
vocal technique
theory of vocal technique (with practical demonstration)
music theory (with practical demonstration)
music history (when relevant to 'repertoire' being sung)
setting up your vocal with a P.A.
mic technique
sight reading
aural skills
improvisation
Pippa is a 'cross discipline' musician and can therefore include many other elements within lessons, when useful to what the student would like to learn. Pippa also has experience in and can offer the following:
lyric writing
song writing
music composition
arranging
production
live electronics
piano and keyboard playing
Pippa teaches all styles of singing and enters students for exams with the London College of Music or The Associated Board of the Royal Schools of Music, depending on which style they study. She also enjoys working with those students who prefer a more relaxed, exam free approach to learning. Each student receives an individual program of study determined by a mutually agreed plan of 'Aims and Objectives' discussed in the first few lessons, which is followed up by regular (informal) 'Achievement Reports'.
The beauty of singing is that you will only need yourself!
